When you use disposable devices, you are buying, using and discarding a vape device a day. However, rechargeable devices can last 6 months or longer. Prefilled pods cost around £5 per twin pack -representing significant savings!
Using disposables you can be throwing away 365 lithium-ion batteries per year! Not to mention the 365 pieces of packaging and 365 inbuilt pods. Refillable pods generate just 2-3 batteries: 26 pieces of packaging and pods, and 104 plastic bottles a year.
Even the largest disposable range only offers the choice of 30 or so flavours. In contrast, a refillable device offers you the choice of thousands of different e-liquid flavours. Not to mention a wider range of nicotine strengths to select from.
It’s easy to be tempted by the most powerful device available. However, for most people it’s best to start with a simple device and then progress to more complicated ones as you gain experience.
We have found that customers are more successful in making the switch from disposables to rechargeable devices when they can match the brand and/or flavour. E.G. if you use Elf Bars, switch to either an Elfa pod system or to Elfliq e-liquid used with a refillable device.
Before you switch, check the strength of the disposable device you use. (Most are 20mg/2% nicotine). Then try and match it to the closest nicotine level you can find in your prefilled pod or e-liquid.
It’s easy to reach for a spare, or pop into a shop when your battery runs out. When you’re switching to a rechargeable device, especially if you are out and about a lot, it’s best to keep a fully charged replacement device with you.
When you’re using a refillable pod, allow it to sit for a few minutes before using it for the first time. This helps extend the life of the coil in the pod.
After you have used it for a while (typically around two weeks) a refillable pod may start to feel scratchy and produce less vapour. Change your pod to keep performance to the max.
